This week, we had the pleasure of visiting our Fir Tree Farm Habitat Bank in County Durham and were even treated to a rare sunny day! The site currently consists of enclosed farmland, a mix of improved and neutral grassland, a stream, and a small pocket of woodland, all soon to be enhanced through targeted habitat creation. Exciting changes are coming to this site in North Yorkshire, where we’ll be transforming underused land into high-value habitats. With Tunstall Farm's five distinct parcels, we’ll create species-rich neutral grassland, new native hedgerows, mixed scrub, and broad-leaved woodland, replacing areas of bare ground, modified grassland, cereal crops, and bramble scrub.
